The Multijurisdictional Enforcement Group (MEG), in its current state was formed in 1993. It is a joint task force, representing the law enforcement agencies of Sheboygan County. Full time officers assigned to the unit come from the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department, Sheboygan Police Department, and Plymouth Police Department. The Sheboygan Falls Police Department is also represented on the unit, in addition to their K-9, "Larry." Every agency in the county has specially trained personnel, able to assist the Meg Unit at any time.
The mission of the MEG Unit is to diligently investigate criminal activity within Sheboygan County, specializing in drug enforcement.
The MEG Unit receives a tremendous amount of information concerning possible drug activity in the area. All law enforcement agencies in the county forward drug arrest information and drug tips to the unit. The unit also receives information from citizens, informants, individuals with pending criminal charges, and anonymous tips.
All information that is received is analyzed and evaluated for reliability and importance. The information will be prioritized, and the MEG Unit will target the highest level narcotics dealers.

Watching for Drug Activity
There are a wide variety of indicatiors of drug dealing that are reported to the MEG Unit. Some of the most helpful include:
~Personal knowledge or observations of drug dealing, occuring at a specific location.
~High volume, short term traffic to a residence at unusual times.
~Witnessed exchanges of money for packages
~Unexplained wealth
The sooner the MEG Unit receives information, the more valuable it will be for an investigation. The best information is normally reported within 48 hours of it being observed.
If a citizen is observing short term traffic at a specific address, normally visits less than five minutes, drug activity is possible. Many citizens have kept written logs of suspicious acitivity. Records including time of day, date, length of stay, suspect and vehicle descriptions, and license plate numbers, are very valuable for investigations.
Some of the most successful investigations were a result of a citizens report to law enforcement of observations listed above.
Reporting Possible Drug Activity
Many people are concerned about retaliation from suspected drug dealers. In almost all cases the MEG Unit can make certain the reporting person's name remains confidential.
To report possible drug activity you may contact law enforcement in many ways.
